Our Visions & Values

‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ Isaiah 40:31

Relaunched for 2024/25

When the children returned to school in September for the 2024/25 academic year, the Vision was relaunched to them through a series of events and activities planned to embed the school’s vision clearly into the heart of everyday school life.

Weston Wings Awards

The words of Isiah 40:31 resonate through our celebration of achievements and accomplishments with our weekly ‘Weston Wings’ awards. Children gain ‘wings’ for ‘soaring like eagles’. The phrase is used in daily classroom praise by all staff as they describe successes as ‘flying high’ and ‘Soaring like an eagle’.

Value stickers

The children are awarded Value stickers by staff during whole class worship. Staff nominate pupils who have demonstrated a particular value and explain how and why they feel the value has been shown by the pupil At times pupils also have nominated others when a value has been spotted by them. We encourage everyone to be involved with identifying values in one another including staff being awarded values stickers.

Daily acts of worship

Daily acts of worship always begin with a candle lighting and invitation to prayer, then end with a joint prayer. This marks the beginning and end of a special time together, making it stand out as a day’s featurePPT of worship candle and prayer.

Worry boxes

Worry boxes used in both classes where children can post their concerns and know that they will be handled with sensitivity and respect.  Individual worry boxes for some children that require additional emotional support for their anxiety. These children are also supported through ELSA or Drawing and Talking intervention.
